Speaker B:Kathy and I wanted to learn more, so we invited Maddie on the show to explain all of this.
Speaker B:Maddie, welcome to the show.
Speaker D:Oh, thank you so much, Shelly.
Speaker D:First of all, your voice.
Speaker D:I could just listen to that all day.
Speaker D:That was like a meditation.
Speaker D:I am buzzing, I am vibing, and I'm so happy and honored to be here today.
Speaker D:Thank you.
Speaker B:Thank you so much.
Speaker B:I really appreciate that compliment.
Speaker B:It's wonderful to have you.
Speaker C:Welcome.
Speaker C:This is great.
Speaker B:Oh my goodness, Maddie, you've got some amazing knowledge and you help so many people.
Speaker B:Thank you.
Speaker B:For those out there who aren't familiar with all of this, could you maybe explain what you do and how you got started?
Speaker B:I'm sure if people aren't familiar, they'll be going, huh, what's this all about?
Speaker D:Yes, absolutely.
Speaker D:So thank you.
Speaker D:So I, I think you know, by just going to distill it down to a few words, how I help people.
Speaker D:Now, whether that's through my media channels or through my one on one mentoring, I really help people use astrology and A whole myriad of spiritual tools, tools of psychology and neuroscience to really help step into alignment and to be in more flow with their life, with their authentic self, with their purpose and to have more presence, joy and fulfillment in their everyday life.
Speaker D:Whether that's people who I know are stay at home moms or you know, Fortune 50 CEOs out there, or people in the entertainment business.
Speaker D:And if you told me I was would be doing this now, you know, as a child, I think I would have two responses, like of duh, of course, that's so me.
Speaker D:But also, huh, what is this?
Speaker D:Like I didn't know this was a career field option as you know, maybe some people out there can relate to people who are a bit more either creative or entrepreneurial.
Speaker D:I definitely have carved out my own path.
Speaker D:It's, it's been a non linear journey to get to this moment, but it's such a beautiful one.
Speaker D:And I guess it really started with I had such a deep curiosity as a child and this very like unshakable belief that we were here to do something really impactful on this planet as humans, that life was really special and that there's a sort of magic, if you will, around us if we could tap into it.
Speaker D:And I think a lot of maybe children feel that way, but I definitely felt that way into my adolescent years and maybe it was after I graduated college though, that that that light dimmed a little bit because I started to feel like, okay, but you got to get to the real world to get a job, you know, what are we going to do for our life?
Speaker D:And, and all these big questions hit me and I think something happened in me and maybe people can relate to this, but I sort of like, like cast away all these parts of myself that were a little quirky, a little eccentric, things that I was passionate about, but didn't really know, you know, how to, how I could monetize them or what did that mean out in the real world.
Speaker D:And I started to take myself very seriously and in that just sort of lost a lot of what made me me and, and I think I started to look for other things to fulfill those places within me.
Speaker D:And it wasn't until I was in my late 20s that I had sort of a, a spiritual awakening, whatever you want to call it.
Speaker D:Dark night of the soul, a breakdown that became my breakthrough, but my body just shut down.
Speaker D:I was set to get married to this man who was lovely but definitely not my soul aligned person in my whole life had slowly but like surely gotten really out of alignment And I just heard this voice in my head that was like, you have to kind of stand up, choose yourself, choose your life again.
Speaker D:Even if it's scary, you have to leave this, like, place.
Speaker D:It feels comfortable, but it's not you.
Speaker D:And you're gonna die like a slow death here where this is not your life.
Speaker D:Right.
Speaker D:And it was so scary.
Speaker D:And it was definitely the most challenging thing by far up to that point.
Speaker D:But I did, I called off that wedding.
Speaker D:You know, I sort of imploded a big bomb in my.
Speaker D:But ironically, after I did, that was the best I had felt in a very long time.
Speaker D:And that's when I realized the power of following your intuition, of listening to yourself and trusting your alignment.
Speaker D:And then from there, you know, like most people who get into spirituality and astrology as an adult, I didn't come to it because I wanted to.
Speaker D:I kind of just gave it a shot again because I was so desperate.
Speaker D:I was like, I'll try anything again.
Speaker D:Like, a friend invited me to a workshop on, on astrology and I, I started dusting off, you know, those books I had as a child.
Speaker D:And I was like, why not?
Speaker D:I have nothing else to lose.
Speaker D:Like my whole life is.
Speaker D:I sort of just, you know, set off the, the big bomb, the detonation device.
Speaker D:So if I'm going to rebuild my life, like, I want to do it with more curiosity, with really figuring out, like I'd been in such a people pleasing, external validation seeking phase of my life for so long.
Speaker D:I. Ladies, I didn't even know who I was.
Speaker D:I didn't even know what I wanted anymore.
Speaker D:It was so.
Speaker D:I was so disconnected.
Speaker D:So, yes, you know, long story long, that set me off on the best, most remarkable journey of my life.
Speaker D:And now I get to share all of the wisdom and tools and tricks that I picked up along the way.
Speaker D:So what all do you do?
Speaker B:I mean, this is amazing that you essentially had an awakening within yourself.
Speaker B:And bravo for calling off a wedding.
Speaker B:That's a scary thing to do.
Speaker D:Oh my goodness.
Speaker B:There are a lot of people who don't like it, but you stood up for yourself.
Speaker B:That's terrific.
Speaker D:What all do you do?
Speaker B:I mean, people hear about astrology, I think a lot of them go, yeah, yeah, it's kind of woo woo type thing, you know.
Speaker D:Okay, great question.
Speaker D:So I think she had, you know, I can remember a few moments in my life where astrology really started to click for me, where I fell in love with it more deeply.
Speaker D:And I think one of the things that I realized is that Astrology is really this self awareness framework.
Speaker D:It's not a fortune cookie.
Speaker D:It's not, you know, certain people can interpret it in ways that are very esoteric and out there and sort of, ooh, like intergalactic Madame Cleo adjacent vibes.
Speaker D:But really astrology is just the study of patterns and phases and cycles.
Speaker D:You know, where was the sun in the sky when you were born that dictates your sun sign?
Speaker D:And every year when the sun moves into that sign, we see certain themes and it's almost like the biggest data collection tool of all time.
Speaker D:And you know, even right now, I study a lot of our macro collective astrology to understand what we're going through as a collective.
Speaker D:And it's been so spot on when you study like, oh, we're in a certain moment in time, that's the same astrology as say like the French Revolution or the Civil War.
Speaker D:And I was studying this for years ahead of time.
Speaker D:And now that we're in it, I'm like, okay, this sort of tracks.
Speaker D:We're sort of picking up on uncertain themes, but that same thing happens within us.
Speaker D:And so by doing it that it's like someone else.
Speaker D:Ancient mystics and wisdom keepers and astrologers have kept this data for so long, so then that we can understand with ourselves.
Speaker D:Okay, here's my chart.
Speaker D:And here are jumping off points to understand patterns and patterns in my own life.
Speaker D:And to me, when I can recognize a pattern, it's so satisfying because then I can decide, is this a pattern that serves me or a pattern that it's in my choosing to, to move on from?
Speaker D:Right?
Speaker D:And it also is a tool of giving yourself words and articulation and hopefully affirmation over some of those things that are a little bit more ineffable, a little bit harder to put words around, like our soul's desires, right?
Speaker D:Our gifts.
Speaker D:I love working with people to help them understand their gifts.
Speaker D:Because the cool thing about it is everyone's born with an incredible gift set.
Speaker D:I call it their medicine, their magic to share with the world.
Speaker D:But here's the thing, when you're just good at something, you take it for granted.
Speaker D:It's like your nose on your face.
Speaker D:You just get used to it being there.
Speaker D:You don't realize that your way with words or your way of organizing or your ability to light up a room or, you know, your, your way with numbers, that's something that's really special that maybe not everyone is good at and, and you really owning that and rocking that is not only going to Help you in your life, you know, create more ease and jo fulfillment.
Speaker D:But you might be adding something to people and, you know, really positively impacting those around you in your family and your community, your clients, your co workers, the larger collective.
Speaker D:And, you know, the astrology that I like to use, I like to say it's practical, it's easy to apply, easy to understand.
Speaker D:And some astrology I understand where it can turn people off because I do not like I've had astrology readings where it did not make me feel empowered after.
Speaker D:So always a grain of salt of who's reading for you.
Speaker D:I've had readers left me feeling deflated or discouraged or again, picking up an astrology book and reading something and going, that feels really restrictive and constricting me.
Speaker D:So that, in my opinion, is astrology that is seeking to define you.
Speaker D:Oh, Geminis are this way.
Speaker D:Pisces are this way.
Speaker D:Virgos are this way.
Speaker D:Where I like to use astrology as another language of the soul of the universe and to have it be astrology that aligns you instead of defines you.
Speaker D:Oh, right.
Speaker D:I am.
Speaker D:These are some of my gifts.
Speaker D:How can I lean into that more?
Speaker D:Or oops, these are maybe a little bit of my obstacles, the things I can get into sticky patterns around.
Speaker D:How can I know better and then do better next time, right?
Speaker D:And all of these little changes, these little moments of aha, awareness, light bulb moments.
Speaker D:All of a sudden you look at your life and you're like, wow, I am in such deep trust, I am in such deep flow that all things are working out for me in all ways.
Speaker D:All ways, because I allow them to.
Speaker D:Right.
Speaker D:And I trust myself at every turn.
Speaker D:And that is, you know, sort of the, the crux, the foundational vibe, I like to call it, of.
Speaker D:Of living in the cosmic zone, what the book's about.
Speaker D:So does that make sense?
Speaker D:Does that resonate?
Speaker B:Yeah, you know, it's interesting.
Speaker B:Astrology actually predates astronomy.
Speaker B:It was always considered definitely a blueprint.
Speaker B:People followed and they looked to the skies, right?
Speaker B:They looked absolutely how everything was in alignment with the Earth.
Speaker B:And then we kind of lost that.
Speaker B:And of course, as we went into the 20th century, I think a lot of people said, ah, science is what we need to follow.
Speaker B:And all the rest of it's bunk, which they're there.
Speaker B:They can't just dismiss it.
Speaker D:Absolutely.
Speaker D:I love that you said that.
Speaker D:One of my favorite fun facts is that, yes, like back in the day, astrology and astronomy were looked at the same way, right.
Speaker D:The scientific world that we associate with astronomy Now, Galileo, Ptolemy, Copernicus, they all studied astrology as well.
Speaker D:And they used it to track natural cycles, to predict agricultural decisions, to understand what was happening politically.
Speaker D:And then somewhere around the scientific revolution, fun fact, Astronomers kind of created a little bit of a smear campaign against astrologers because they were fighting for the same funding the same research, the same, you know, like, everything was, goes down to, you know, money and power of the dollar.
Speaker D:And then when astrology returned back into the collective, for better or worse, it was brought back into the mainstream through newspaper horoscopes.
Speaker D:Oh, yes, yes.
Speaker D:So it was like, oh, that's fun.
Speaker D:But I understand why a lot of people wouldn't really be like, oh, yeah, that's really making me stop feeling skeptical and believing.
Speaker D:These horoscopes that are written and they are a little vague, right?
Speaker D:And they're, they're, they're totally vague.
Speaker C:They could apply to anybody.
Speaker D: e, okay, yeah, I'm a human in: Speaker D:Like, how could I not?
Speaker D:And I like to say, like, that is a type of astrology.
Speaker D:But to me, I' like, it's like saying, you know, that everyone knows, you know, the cooking's all the same.
Speaker D:I'm like, well, yes, having a filet mignon prepared at a five star restaurant is food and cooking.
Speaker D:And so is a McDonald's, you know, $ menu burger.
Speaker D:Yes, they're both technically food.
Speaker D:They're both technically even maybe similar ingredients, but the way they're being delivered and used and utilized is completely a different experience.
Speaker D:Right?
Speaker B:So, yeah, yeah, I think astrology has been served up as one size fits all.
Speaker B:And it doesn't, it doesn't at all.
Speaker B:You need to have all the different details to see the whole picture.

Speaker B:We want to help as many women as possible.
Speaker B:We're talking with Maddie Murphy, founder of Cosmic Rx and author of in the Cosmic Zone.
Speaker B:If you've ever wished life came with a user manual, Maddie says it actually does.
Speaker B:It's written in your cosmic blueprint.
Speaker B:She blends astrology with modern self development like spirituality, psychology and neuroscience so people can step into their alignment.
Speaker B:She helps women move from perfectionism to progress and from uncertainty to confidence.
Speaker B:She teaches how the zodiac can be a roadmap to clarity, healing and purpose.
Speaker B:Maddie, your book talks about the cosmic Zone.
Speaker B:What exactly is that?
Speaker D:The cosmic zone to me is fundamentally when you start really understanding who you are, why you're here and how to operate at your most attuned high frequency self.
Speaker D:And you are in that place where where you are living your most authentic expression and you're in alignment with your vision for your life, your values.
Speaker D:And again, like what really lights your soul on fire.
Speaker D:And with all of that, when you can trust all of that and again, it's not a one time journey.
Speaker D:It's like it's something we come back to over and over again.
Speaker D:But when you trust that place, it feels like you are flying, like you are dancing, like you are in deep co creation with the universe.
Speaker D:And it's like life is happening through you, not just to you.
Speaker D:And here's the thing, it's not you don't go there one time and stay there.
Speaker D:I Teach this work.
Speaker D:And I think I live in my cosmos zone a big percentage of the time because I've been doing this, dedicated to it for a very long time.
Speaker D:But there's always that next big leap, right?
Speaker D:We want to make as humans.
Speaker D:We're naturally expansive.
Speaker D:We're natural explorers.
Speaker D:And anyone, anyone listening, however much success you've had or whatever you've done in life, there comes a point where you're kind of either ready for, for the next thing, right?
Speaker D:And it might be a big move, it might be you're doing something creative.
Speaker D:It might be pulling back and tending to the home and being like, I want to really invest myself in, in my garden or, you know, or becoming a parent or whatever it is, falling in love.
Speaker D:And these are moments where we can feel that fear of the unknown.
Speaker D:And I like to tell people, okay, this is time to go back, go back within yourself and figure out, like, what's the pep talk we need?
Speaker D:What's the permission slip we need?
Speaker D:What's some of the practical magic, you know, tools and rituals and support that you need so you can take that leap and live in that place where your soul is like, ah, yes, I'm alive, I'm here, I'm connected to my life force.
Speaker D:So that's everything, you know, that's the cosmic zone.
Speaker D:But I just like to say it's not something that we just do one time.
Speaker D:So life, lifetime, journey, right?
Speaker D:And, and every time you do it and you make that leap, like that first leap I had from the comfort zone to the cosmic zone in my late 20s, it was bumpy.
Speaker D:That wasn't really a leap so much as I was shoved off of a cliff by the universe and, you know, fell the whole way down.
Speaker D:I was like, okay, next time can I get the message a little bit more subtly?
Speaker D:Can I do it with a little bit more grace, A little bit more like empowerment, right?
Speaker D:Like as a little scuffed up Bruce and battered after that one.
Speaker D:But, you know, writing this book was a comfort zone to a cosmic zone journey for me.
Speaker D:I had to use the very tools in the book, literally use them and the mantras to get through the process of writing the book proposal, writing the book, and now I'm using it in putting myself out there to talk about it.
Speaker B:I don't think a lot of people do this kind of inward reflection.
Speaker B:I mean, when you think about a.
Speaker B:How many people really know themselves.
Speaker B:I mean, I think we go through life and there's certain times when we do feel in alignment and we really feel like, we belong.
Speaker B:And then there are other times where it's just like, ooh, this just doesn't feel right.
Speaker B:But we keep plodding along anyway.
Speaker D:You know, I love what you just said there.
Speaker D:It's so true.
Speaker D:It's like, we don't and.
Speaker D:Okay, something you just said.
Speaker D:I want people at home listening.
Speaker D:Chances are you have had a taste of the cosmic zone.
Speaker D:Like you said, a moment where you're like, ooh, I'm in a state of belonging or a flow state or things are going really well and sometimes we can feel it for a quick, you know, a day or a phase in our life.
Speaker D:But I just want to remind everyone, like you said, when you slow down, if you're trying to push ahead in life and nothing's working, the best thing you can do is kind of counterintuitively slow down, tune back into yourself and get to know yourself.
Speaker D:Because that is where the real transformation happens and where it's more long lasting and again, where you can start to like, go back to that place.
Speaker D:Like, everyone's listening has probably experienced the cosmic zone.
Speaker D:But I want you to, like, I want you to live there.
Speaker D:I want that to be like your, your main residency, right?
Speaker B:Wouldn't that be nice?
Speaker B:And your, your book talks about that.
Speaker B:The 12 universal keys.
Speaker B:You're helping people do a metamorphosis.
Speaker B:Kathy, you dealt with a lot of growth and you deal a lot in frequencies too.
Speaker B:Like, Maddie's been talking.
Speaker C:Well, I've been really blessed since I've been very young to have to feel energy.
Speaker C:I see things before they happen.
Speaker C:I, I understand the bigger picture.
Speaker C:Like, when it comes to, like, I'll give you an example.
Speaker C: When I was buying my house in: Speaker C:I wasn't looking for something that was pretty.
Speaker C:I was looking for something that I, as Kathy Takaro, aligned with the house.
Speaker C:If that sounds crazy, it's, it's, it is.
Speaker C:So I would walk into a house, I would feel the house's live energy, and I'm like, nope, this isn't it.
Speaker C:Nope, this is not going to match who I am.
Speaker C:So until I found this one house and I went in, the second I walk in the door, my heart center just opened right up and it started to pulsate.
Speaker C:And it was a slow, steady pulsate as I walked through the house.
Speaker C:And I'm like, okay, this is it.
Speaker C:So I went to see that house three times just to make sure, because I'm going to See other houses at the same time.
Speaker C:And I kept coming back to this one.
Speaker C:And every time I went back, it would get stronger and stronger till the third time when the realtor was talking to me and he was pulsating so strong that it became a sound and it almost tuned out the realtor.
Speaker C:And I had to bend over and I was holding my chest and I had to shut it off.
Speaker C:And I'm like, okay.
Speaker C:As I'm internally shutting off my heart center, I'm telling the lady, I'll take.
Speaker B:It, I'll take it.
Speaker C:This is the right house for me.
Speaker D:I'll take it.
Speaker D:Yes.
Speaker C:Because I was aligning myself with the energy that I needed.
Speaker C:Not so much as, oh, I just think this house is pretty right.
Speaker C:Because everything's got a vibe.
Speaker D:Yes, very.
Speaker C:And people have vibes.
Speaker C:And so I've been very fortunate to, to be able to see that.
Speaker C:So, I mean, anybody can, can pay attention.
Speaker C:You know, you're walking beside someone, you're like, ooh, that guy gives you the creeps.
Speaker C:You know, like, what's up with that?
Speaker B:I've had those kind of vibes too.
Speaker B:And you know, it's interesting, Kathy, When I looked for my house years ago, I remember going to a lot of different open houses, and there's a house that I'd always been intrigued by.
Speaker B:I walked in, it's like, wow, people didn't like each other in this house.
Speaker D:You could feel it.
Speaker B:Oh, yeah.
Speaker B:And actually what popped in my head was somebody didn't like their mother in law, which was funny.
Speaker B:I have no idea.
Speaker B:But I was picking up vibes.
Speaker B:And I do.
Speaker B:I pick up that kind of information too, but I think everyone does.
Speaker B:But they don't always listen to it, do they?
Speaker D:No, they don't.
Speaker D:That is so well said.
Speaker D:And that is, you know, I love it.
Speaker D:Thank you for sharing that, Kathy.
Speaker D:And I'm the same way.
Speaker D:And I actually don't always lead with it in interviews because there's so much to talk about.
Speaker D:Right.
Speaker D:I have a life story, but same as you, I always had that like, you know, clairsentience or Claire cognizance.
Speaker D:I was a feeling of like, I just.
Speaker D:You feel the energy right before, before your mind can even catch up.
Speaker D:You're just like, yes or no.
Speaker D:But it did take me a while to trust it because sometimes I would just be like, oh, whatever, Right.
Speaker D:The mind comes in so quickly, like, like the body, like, comes in with something and then if our mind can just be like, nope, like, that doesn't make sense.
Speaker D:It's Even back to the story with me being engaged.
Speaker D:A lot of times my body would just be like, this doesn't feel good.
Speaker D:Like, I don't.
Speaker D:Like, I wouldn't.
Speaker D:I wasn't sleeping.
Speaker D:I wasn't eating.
Speaker D:And anyone who knows me, I love to eat.
Speaker D:I love to sleep.
Speaker D:Like, my two favorite things in life, basically.
Speaker D:And I noticed that, like, after my fiance proposed, I couldn't.
Speaker D:I had no appetite, I wasn't sleeping well, and my mind was just like, okay, just keep going.
Speaker D:Check off the box.
Speaker D:You're doing this.
Speaker D:This is great.
Speaker D:Everyone says you should be happy, be happy.
Speaker D:And that.
Speaker D:That moment where I, like, you know, finally let myself, like, come into my truth.
Speaker D:I was like, you know, what body?
Speaker D:You know, something I don't know, right?
Speaker D:And, like, my mind is so scared, but I have to listen to it.
Speaker D:And that was like, my promise I made to myself after that day that I was going to trust all those nudges and that feelings and those inklings and, like, almost let the head follow them, like, which is like, you know, opposite of what I'm doing up to that point.
Speaker D:And I think that you're speaking so articulately on this, and I have a chapter in my book about, like, how do you begin to really listen to that intuitive voice?
Speaker D:Because you have a very clear connection, and I love that you trust that.
Speaker D:But I think a lot of people would, like, maybe have that nudge about the house, then be like, oh, the head gets in the way really quickly, right?
Speaker D:With the monkey mind, the anxiety, the whatever.
Speaker D:So I love that you modeled that so beautifully, and I think that we could all learn a lot from that story.
Speaker A:Stay tuned for more of Women Road warriors coming up.

Speaker E:I've helped countless people across the country, and my success rate speaks for itself.
Speaker E:So now you know where to find good, honest help with your tax problems.
Speaker E:What are you waiting for?
Speaker E: -: Speaker A:Welcome back to Women Road warriors with Shelly Johnson and Kathy Tucaro.
Speaker B:If you've ever been craving a breakthrough or a deeper sense of direction, you're in the right place.
Speaker B:We're talking with astrology expert And Cosmic RX founder Maddie Murphy, whose book in the cosmic Zone, helps women step into alignment by working with 12 archetypes.
Speaker B:She blends ancient wisdom with practical tools to help you decode your soul blueprint so you can finally move from stagnation to empowered action.
Speaker B:As she says, it's powerful to follow your intuition, listen to yourself, and trust in your alignment.
Speaker B:Maddie, with our technology today, we're so connected, but I think we've stopped listening.
Speaker B:And, Maddie, what you're doing with your book, I think, is opening up all of those senses again, because human beings, I think, get really kind of lazy if they got a device that can tell them how to think.
Speaker B:I was gonna say lazy and distracted.
Speaker D:Yes.
Speaker D:Disconnected.
Speaker D:Distracted and, yes, a little lazy.
Speaker D:Yeah, absolutely.
Speaker B:So you talk about the 12 universal keys in your book.
Speaker B:First chapter, where you really delve into this is why not me Move from stagnation to empowered action.
Speaker B:I was wondering if you wanted to maybe touch on some of the highlights of your book, because you've got a lot of insight there.
Speaker D:Yes.
Speaker D:So it's basically the.
Speaker D:The 12 keys, and I took them from the 12 zodiac signs.
Speaker D:And the zodiac sign astrology is basically the study of, like, a cosmic wheel of life that we go through over and over again.
Speaker D:And we hope that in every passing, we learn something new.
Speaker D:We gain some kind of new awareness where we can live in more of that place of self trust and ease and joy.
Speaker D:And so when I looked at these zodiac signs, I'm like, regardless if you're into astrology or not, these are just universal truths.
Speaker D:I think there are keys that we need to unlock aspects of ourselves, especially when we're, you know, up against that next invitation for our own expansion.
Speaker D:And the first key is a key that I've had to work with a lot.
Speaker D:As someone who I'm the oldest of four girls, I definitely grew up in a household where it's like, be a good girl.
Speaker D:Like, you get, like, be grateful for everything you have.
Speaker D:Don't ask for too much.
Speaker D:And, like.
Speaker D:And nothing wrong with that.
Speaker D:I was raised to be very polite, and I appreciate that.
Speaker D:But I think I internalized that in some way where it was like, don't take up space.
Speaker D:Don't do anything.
Speaker D:Anything to rock the boat.
Speaker D:Don't put yourself out there.
Speaker D:Don't be too much.
Speaker D:Don't be too this that.
Speaker D:Right?
Speaker D:And there's something in all of us.
Speaker D:Whether you're daring just to live more boldly as your own person, own your identity more, or do something that feels like putting yourself out there entrepreneurially, creatively, or in love.
Speaker D:A lot of people I work with have this first thought they share with me of like, why me?
Speaker D:Right?
Speaker D:And it's.
Speaker D:Some people call it imposter syndrome.
Speaker D:You know, some people, it's like the self critic.
Speaker D:It's like, why, why am I going to write a book?
Speaker D:Why am I going to have a podcast or radio show?
Speaker D:Why me to do this right?
Speaker D:Why me to move across the world and live in my dream, you know, city.
Speaker D:And it's.
Speaker D:I actually think that imposter syndrome is actually a beautiful gift to embrace because I'm like, okay, that's good.
Speaker D:That means that you are actually humble and you're not an egomaniac.
Speaker D:So check, check.
Speaker D:I like that first of all, that we're questioning a little bit, but I don't want questioning to stop anyone from doing the thing.
Speaker D:And you know, you are here to live a life that is yours, that feels beautiful, that feels made on purpose, with purpose.
Speaker D:And like you're here to have faith in yourself.
Speaker D:So the first question I had people ask is, like, why not me?
Speaker D:Why not me?
Speaker D:Like, why, why does someone else get to do it, not you, right?
Speaker D:Like, I think it's so easy to say why me?
Speaker D:But the flipping that is just this three words that just gives you permission, right?
Speaker D:Permission to like, we have such unique things about us, but we're also all basically made up of the same things.
Speaker D:Yes, some of us are born into different positions in life or have different superpowers or talents that are a little bit, maybe like a little different than each other's.
Speaker D:But the core, you know, I think it's all of our birthrights to experience joy and creativity and to really like squeeze the juice out of, out of, out of this life.
Speaker D:And so in that why not me?
Speaker D:I really break down in this chapter, like, how do we begin to move from this place of stagnation?
Speaker D:And like you said before about maybe even being asleep.
Speaker D:Like this first step of why not me?
Speaker D:Might not even be a big bold task.
Speaker D:You're doing it just maybe like, oh, looking around, like, I think I made for something more.
Speaker D:I think there's more to life than going to work, paying my bills, eating the same dinner every night, sitting on my couch, scrolling while streaming, sleep, repeat.
Speaker D:Like, what?
Speaker D:Is there something else going on inside me?
Speaker D:Right?
Speaker D:Like, is there something else I'm meant to tap into?
Speaker D:And, and so I think we have.
Speaker D:A lot of.
Speaker D:Chances are a lot of us have, you know, negative self talk or old internalized programming.
Speaker D:Or someone else's voice in our head that's saying that, you know, we're not mean to be in this space, in this arena.
Speaker D:And I'm just here to tell you, you are.
Speaker D:And I.
Speaker D:The first thing I like to say in the book is, like, plug into, like, passion again, like, what lights you up, what.
Speaker D:I don't care what it is.
Speaker D:I don't care how silly it is, how goofy it is, how quote unquote impractical or frivolous it is.
Speaker D:It's like, you know, does it.
Speaker D:Is it crafting?
Speaker D:Is it organizing?
Speaker D:Is it watching old, like, cartoons from growing up?
Speaker D:Is it like playing outside?
Speaker D:Is it blowing bubbles?
Speaker D:Is it napping?
Speaker D:Like, I don't.
Speaker B:What?
Speaker D:Like, just beginning to tap back into your fire and into what connects you into that life force is such an important reminder of, like, oh, right.
Speaker D:Like, there's something in me, There is a light in me.
Speaker D:And that's the first step.
Speaker D:It's just remembering that.
Speaker D:And then, you know, I share a few different practices in there, but one thing, and I'll, you know, keep it short, but our brain has a negativity bias.
Speaker D:So I just want to remind everyone of that, that if 4,000 good things happen to you in a day and one bad thing happens, you will remember that bad thing.
Speaker D:If you've gotten 4,000 compliments in your life on how you are so good at X, Y, Z, and one person plants a seed of doubt or comes in with their own, as my dad would call stinking thinking and rains on your parade, chances are we will remember word for word what that person says and not all the other compliments, exhortation and affirmation.
Speaker D:So a practice that I started, and I did this accidentally when I was in college, just going, getting through a hard breakup and going through a hard chapter in my life.
Speaker D:I was studying abroad and I was having so much fun in this.
Speaker D:This change of scenery.
Speaker D:It allowed me to shed some of the old stories, allowed me to be a different kind of more me version of me.
Speaker D:I remember thinking, I want to remember every good thing happening to me here for when I go back to campus in the fall.
Speaker D:And I want to remember this me.
Speaker D:So I started to keep a journal of just, like, my happy moments, the moments where someone gave me a compliment, where I felt really alive.
Speaker D:And I actually wrote it in a calendar for me to find, like, a random days.
Speaker D:You know, I was like, I want to just remember, like, these little morsels and remember, like, this is me.
Speaker D:I am that girl.
Speaker D:And I can come back there, even if, you know, my toxic ex is around or I'm feeling a little bit, like, not super inspired on my campus.
Speaker D:And I realized this practice was so strong, I started doing it, like, in other, harder moments in my life.
Speaker D:And I do it now, actually, all the time.
Speaker D:But I call it the hall of fame.
Speaker D:So instead of your hall of Fame, can we keep a journal?
Speaker D:Can we keep an active record of the positive feedback we get from other people, from the universe, from ourselves?
Speaker D:The moments where someone says, wow, oh, Shelly, you're such a good listener.
Speaker D:Right?
Speaker D:Kathy, you have an amazing way with words, my Gemini queen.
Speaker D:Thank you for breaking that down for me so far.
Speaker D:Right.
Speaker D:Thank you for thinking right, Like, Shelly, like, you're such a Pisces.
Speaker D:You're so caring.
Speaker D:You're so there for me.
Speaker D:Thank you.
Speaker D:I really needed that in that moment.
Speaker D:Or maybe you're just like, damn, I put on those jeans today and I think I saw someone check out my butt in the grocery store.
Speaker D:And, like, that also felt good because we want that too.
Speaker D:Put it down.
Speaker D:Write it down in a journal.
Speaker D:I also tell people, take screenshots, shots of, you know, the happy texts and emails you get.
Speaker D:And first thing, just do a practice find one thing a day for 28 days and see what that does to your internal monologue.
Speaker D:See what that does.
Speaker D:And then, you know, keep going after there.
Speaker D:And then the next time you're having that moment of like, oh, who am I to do this?
Speaker D:I'm not good enough.
Speaker D:Maybe I got some harsher criticism or feedback or I'm just in my own head having a down day.
Speaker D:Go back to this treasure trove to this hall of flame and let it reignite and spark the remembrance, really, of, like, who you are.
Speaker D:Because that is, like, that's the funny thing about being a human, right?
Speaker D:Like, we really forget pretty quickly over and over again.
Speaker D:Oh, yeah.
Speaker D:So, yeah, so that's just some stuff from chapter one, but I love it, right?
Speaker D:The hall of Flame.
Speaker D:It's so fun, and it really works.

Speaker A:Welcome back to Women Road warriors with Shelly Johnson and Kathy Tucaro.
Speaker B:Our guest Today is Maddie Murphy, author of in the Cosmic Zone and founder of Cosmic Rx, a platform helping millions of people decode their birth charts and reconnect with who they really are.
Speaker B:Maddie shows women how to move past old patterns, reclaim their confidence, and activate their authentic selves through the 12 archetypes to unleash their genius and activate their authentic selves.
Speaker B:If you've ever wondered why you're wired the way you are or why you feel called to evolve, she says the answers are written in your cosmic design.
Speaker B:Maddie, you have so many good points in your book.
Speaker B:We have, like, maybe 12 minutes.
Speaker B:Can you highlight maybe some of the 12 steps?
Speaker B:You talk about the 12 universal keys to maybe pique everybody's interest.
Speaker B:What are some of the next universal keys that you'd like to cover?
Speaker D:Okay, so the key.
Speaker D:So after we go from, you know, why not me?
Speaker D:The next step is I'm allowed to feel good.
Speaker D:And this might be a real, like, aha for people out there.
Speaker D:And I like to say even one key, I'm hoping can shift people's life and experience of it, because this is all about, hey, do you know that we're allowed to be motivated by pleasure in life instead of pressure?
Speaker D:And that's a huge aha.
Speaker D:Right?
Speaker D:Like, we're actually here to enjoy our lives.
Speaker D:So that's key too.
Speaker D:And as we move on from that, the journey takes us into the Gemini key.
Speaker D:So, Kathy, you might relate to this one, I call it.
Speaker B:But why?
Speaker D:Because Gemini is a really key part of ourselves to understand.
Speaker D:We're here to question things.
Speaker D:Things aren't meant to stay the same forever.
Speaker D:We're meant to question the status quo.
Speaker D:And this can relate to, like, but why can't I do it this way and the way I want to?
Speaker D:Right?
Speaker D:Or letting our curiosity guide us somewhere.
Speaker D:And it actually helps us find and use our unique voice, which is really, really important, that we can learn to trust that.
Speaker D:And then the fourth key brings us into a place of grounding, and it's the permission slip and the pep talk and the tools to claim I need what I need.
Speaker D:And I know you both are focused on empowering women, and this one is so key, pun intended, for all women out there, because there is some huge struggle.
Speaker D:I have never met a woman in my life, especially the ones who are holding a lot on their shoulders for everyone else who does not have a stickiness or a discomfort or some sort of guilt attached to just claiming I need something.
Speaker D:I have needs, right?
Speaker D:And this one.
Speaker D:Oof.
Speaker D:That is.
Speaker D:That is required reading.
Speaker D:For all the women, right, listening right now.
Speaker D:And we want to feel at home.
Speaker D:We want to feel like nurtured and nourished so we can keep doing these things.
Speaker D:But we want to give to others from a place of overflow, right?
Speaker D:Not feeling drained and depleted.
Speaker D:And the key five after that is fun.
Speaker D:Spicy.
Speaker D:This key is I need to be seen.
Speaker D:This is probably the next thing I deal with a lot of women on is a lot of women have a wound drawn visibility.
Speaker D:Either they're scared to be seen, it feels really vulnerable, or that they feel like people in their lives don't see them in the way they want to be seen.
Speaker D:So this chapter helps coach you through what does it mean to be seen?
Speaker D:How can we show up more as our authentic self?
Speaker D:How can we have fun with it?
Speaker D:And that was something I was working on for a long time for sure.
Speaker D:And then the next key, key six, practice makes magic.
Speaker D:This helps us, whatever we're doing in life, shift from this idea of perfectionism and that we have to get it right on the first try and instead embracing progress over perfection.
Speaker D:Because again, so many things we're doing, whether it's cooking or doing something creative or, you know, running a business with technology.
Speaker D:We look around, right, and we compare people's day to day 12, 62 to our first day.
Speaker D:And then we just give up right before we even start.
Speaker D:So this chapter is like, hey, can we just choose progress and showered movement versus perfectionism.
Speaker D:And then for anyone who's looking to go deeper in their relationships and have more conscious relationships, key seven is we can create harmony, which really helps us master the art of collaboration and co creation and create more consciousness, romantic and platonic partnerships and relationships in our lives.
Speaker D:And there's some, there's some juicy tips in there that I have helped clients manifest some really amazing partners with.
Speaker D:And then key eight, this is a big one.
Speaker D:This is I will not be shamed.
Speaker D:This is a whole chapter about like, how can we go to the places that we want to hide and actually bring them into the light and help us overcome, you know, any shame that we might have from someone else or outside of ourselves.
Speaker D:And by doing that, really take our power back and live in our wholeness.
Speaker D:And then key nine, experience is my inspiration.
Speaker D:This is about helping us replace cynicism and the parts of us that get jaded and disconnected with sacred optimism and coming back into a place of buoyancy, which again, we all need all the time.
Speaker D:But especially I would say again, just being a human can get really heavy.
Speaker D:This is A chapter that helps you come back into hope, into faith.
Speaker D:All right, this is why I'm here.
Speaker D:My life is meant to be an adventure.
Speaker D:And then key 10, my life is my legacy.
Speaker D:Just this reminder that your life, like, you're meant to have great impact in whatever you're doing in your corner of the world.
Speaker D:And this is an invitation in this chapter to really live in integrity, to take radical responsibility and really look at your life through that lens of leaving your legacy behind.
Speaker D:And then key 11, which is very relevant into our current astrology.
Speaker D:The future is ours.
Speaker D:This is tips to thinking a little bit outside of the box, to helping us be a rebel with a cause and to kind of weave something in the joyful reimagining of a society.
Speaker D:And how can we do things that are helping us move the needle more to, like, where we want to go as a collective in this moment in time.
Speaker D:And then the last key, which is so, like, perfect.
Speaker D:And it's the Pisces key, Shelly.
Speaker D:And it brings us in.
Speaker D:Like, we go through these journeys, and whether there's, you know, the cosmic zone journey of a lifetime or through achieving something in a moment or just sometimes in the course of a day, we might go through some of these.
Speaker D:These keys.
Speaker D:I think the 12th key for me is the key that brings it all home, wraps it up with a bow.
Speaker D:It's I trust.
Speaker D:Because, you know, what Kathy was talking about and what we were talking about is this is the one that helps us lean back and let something higher hold you and guide you and protect you and direct you whether you call that, you know, God, spirit, source, the universe, your higher self.
Speaker D:Just this reminder, like, that tingly feeling you were talking about, that feeling of, like, oh, we don't have to do it all ourselves.
Speaker D:There's actually something else that we can lean on and look to.
Speaker D:And when we do that, we get to surrender and we get to allow and really, like, trust in the magic and miracles of our life and let ourselves actually be kind of delighted and surprised by how good things can be when we're not trying to control every little detail.
Speaker D:So Those are the 12 keys.
Speaker D:A little taste, a little appetizer that I hope sort of, you know, you know, whets the appetite of anyone listening.
Speaker D:And again, we go through all of them all the time.
Speaker D:But there might be one key that's resonating on your journey right now, and I would just encourage everyone to follow that and see what it wants to unlock.
Speaker B:That's really deep.
Speaker B:I could see was, wow, dang.
Speaker C:But I connected with so many of them, so many.
Speaker C:I'm like, okay, yeah, that's me.
Speaker C:Yeah, I got that.
Speaker D:Oh yeah.
Speaker B:Maddie, you do so many things now.
Speaker D:Do you work with people individually?
Speaker B:Can they reach out to you in the cosmic Rx zone or.
Speaker D:Yeah, you know, I do.
Speaker D:You have all these beautiful channels for media, for content.
Speaker D:A lot of it is free so people can interact us that way.
Speaker D:And then I do, I don't do one on one birth chart readings at this moment in time, but I do work with certain people in an ongoing container, like a mentorship for people who are really like, hey, I want to really change my whole life in six months.
Speaker D:Like let's go, let's really do this.
Speaker D: But I think in: Speaker D:So yeah, come find me on my website.
Speaker D:You know, we'll, I'm sure send you all the link for things but anybody who's out there, who's curious and something here peaks something in them.
Speaker D:I will make time and space to help navigate you to the next part of your cosmic zone journey.
Speaker B:And you're@cosmicrx.com excellent.
Speaker B:And you actually have a group, don't you?
Speaker B:A community.
Speaker B:Did you send out information to people so that they can always kind of stay on track?
Speaker D:Yes, exactly.
Speaker D:If you come find me on the website, there's so many ways to stay.
Speaker D:You know, we have a free newsletter that goes out every Monday with what you need to know, kind of like your astrology weather for the week, broken down to really easy to understand terms.
Speaker D:And there's always updates in there, like things that we're opening, doing and then we have a private membership community, a couple thousand people in it right now.
Speaker D:And we do, you know, we're just one big support group.
Speaker D:We like, we have a big group chat, we're hyping each other up and we also do live calls and I send out a really beautifully designed magazine every month that has rituals, inspiration, tips and just again ways to go deeper with this work.
Speaker D:So yeah, there's lots of different ways to interact with this.
Speaker D:I really wanted to design all of this to meet people where they're at on their journey and let them know they have a place here.
Speaker B:This is just amazing.
Speaker B:I mean you cover everything.
Speaker D:I'm a Virgo.
Speaker D:We like to do it all.
Speaker D:We like to leave no stone unturned.
Speaker B:I can relate.
Speaker B:I was raised by two Virgos.
Speaker D:Yes, I knew that you were going to pick up on that.
Speaker D:I'm like, hello, And I'm trying to live in the light of the Virgo energy, because Virgo at its best is here to be a helper and here to help other people.
Speaker B:The organizational skills of the Virgo, I think that was good for me because Pisces are creative and we can kind of meander.
Speaker B:And my mother definitely was one who's like, you stay focused, you know, one thing at a time, Shelley.
Speaker B:So that was a good knowledge.
Speaker B:It also gave me some advantages when I dated some Virgos.
Speaker B:It's like, I knew how they think, and they were kind of freaked out.
Speaker B:They're like, you're Pisces.
Speaker B:How do you understand me?
Speaker B:It's like, I've had practice.
Speaker D:Oh, I love that.
Speaker D:That's where all of astrology is, right?
Speaker D:It's so great.
Speaker D:It's like we get this little cheat code to understand each other.
Speaker C:Like, okay, both my ex husbands were Gemini, so that means four of us in the house.
Speaker D:Like, who are you today?
Speaker D:Like, what?
Speaker C:But the good thing is that we, number one, we always had fun.
Speaker C:Number two, we understood each other.
Speaker C:You know, we give each other our space because we know.
Speaker B:Yes, absolutely.
Speaker D:Love that.
Speaker B:So, Maddie, where do people find you and where did they find your book?
Speaker D:Okay, so, yeah, come find me@cosmicrx.com.
Speaker D:that's a good jumping off point.
Speaker D:You sign up for the free newsletter, you'll get right in the community, in the flow there.
Speaker D:And then the book in the Cosmic Zone is wherever books are sold.
Speaker D:Amazon, Barnes and Noble, you know, the usual suspects.
Speaker D:And I really infuse this book with, like, I wanted it to be a love letter to everyone's soul.
Speaker D:So if you buy it, just sit with it.
Speaker D:Let it be what it needs to be for you.
Speaker D:And I just thank you in advance for making one of my big Cosmic Zone dreams come true, of being someone who gets to put this out in the world.
